On the other hand, osmosis is defined as diffusion where water moves from an area with high solute to an area where there are fewer solutes. Osmosis is a natural process that takes place in living cells, where water molecules diffuse from one side of a cell to another in order to maintain equilibrium.
Osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane from a region of high solute concentration to one of low solute concentration.
